1. This agreement
These terms are the agreement between Baton, run by Chetan (we, us) and the company or person using Baton (you). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to bind that company.
Our privacy notice forms part of this agreement and explains what we do with personal data.
2. What Baton does
Baton is documentation software for equipment handovers. Your field crew photographs equipment nameplates, Baton attempts to read the make, model and serial number from those photographs, your office reviews and corrects what it finds, and Baton generates a handover document as a PDF, an Excel workbook and a CSV, saved into your own Google Drive.
We may change, add to or remove features. If a change removes something you rely on, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older. Baton is a workplace tool and is not for children.
- Give us accurate details, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account is one person. Do not share sign-in credentials; invite colleagues to your company instead.
- Tell us promptly at hello@hustleworld.app if you think someone else has got into your account.
4. Your data stays yours
You own the photographs, equipment records and documents you create with Baton. We claim no ownership of them.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store and process your content in order to display it, read nameplates from it, generate your documents, and write those files into the Google Drive account you connect. We do not sell your content, we do not use it to advertise to you, and we do not use it to train generalised artificial intelligence models.
Your photographs and finished documents are written into your own Google Drive. If you stop using Baton, those files remain in your Drive and are unaffected.
5. What you are responsible for
Project codes are shared credentials.
A six-digit project code, or the QR that carries it, lets anybody holding it capture into that project without signing in. That is deliberate: it is what lets a crew work without accounts. It also means you choose who receives it, you tell your crew what is being recorded, and you revoke or regenerate the code when a job ends or when it gets out. Baton gives you a one-click revoke that cuts off every connected phone; using it is your call to make.
You also agree not to:
- Upload content you do not have the right to upload, or anything unlawful, malicious or infringing.
- Attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service, or work around its access controls, rate limits or upload limits.
- Use the service to store personal data you have no lawful basis to process, or sensitive personal data it was not built for.
- Resell or white-label the service without a written agreement with us.
6. Reading a nameplate is assistance, not a guarantee
This clause matters more than any other on this page, so it is in plain words.
Baton reads each nameplate twice and compares the two readings. A value is accepted only when both readings agree and both are confident; anything else is flagged for a person. Before a handover can be generated, one of your people must also check each plate's manufacturer, model and serial number against its photo. Those are serious safeguards, and they are still not a guarantee.
The register is a draft until one of your people confirms it. You are responsible for checking the equipment data before you issue a handover document to a client, and for the contents of every document you generate and send. We do not warrant that any extracted make, model or serial number is correct, and we are not a party to the handover you deliver.
Baton is also not a substitute for the inspection, testing, commissioning or certification obligations you owe anyone else. It records what your crew photographed. It does not certify that equipment was installed correctly or is fit for purpose.
7. Google Drive
Connecting Drive is optional for capture and required for generating documents. When you connect it you authorise Baton to create and manage the files it creates in your Drive, using the narrow drive.file permission. Baton cannot read or touch anything else in your Drive.
Your use of Google Drive is also governed by your agreement with Google. Storage limits, availability and account suspension on Google's side are between you and Google. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.
8. Fees
Current pricing is published at baton.hustleworld.app/pricing. The Free plan costs nothing and stays that way for as long as you use it. Nothing is ever charged without you taking an explicit action to start it. Pro can be started two ways: through self-serve checkout, where you enter payment details directly on our payment processor's own page and confirm the charge yourself — that starts a real recurring monthly subscription, billed automatically each period until you cancel — or by asking us to turn it on by hand, in which case nothing is charged until we have separately agreed with you what it costs. Cancelling stops future charges; access you already paid for continues until the end of the period already billed, then reverts to Free automatically — nothing you have captured or generated is ever affected either way. Nothing here obliges you to pay anything you have not agreed to.
9. Availability
We aim to keep Baton running and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise a specific level of uptime and there is no service level agreement attached to these terms. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, by a failure at a supplier, or by something outside our reasonable control.
Because the capture app stores captures on the phone until they sync, an outage on our side does not stop a crew from working.
10. Our intellectual property
Baton's software, design, brand and documentation are ours. These terms give you permission to use the service, not ownership of it. You may not copy, resell or create a competing product from it. Any feedback you send us we may use freely, without owing you anything for it.
11. Ending it
You can stop using Baton at any time and ask us to close your account at hello@hustleworld.app. We keep your account data for 90 days after that so an accidental closure can be undone, then erase it. Files already in your Google Drive are untouched and stay yours.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that puts the service or other customers at risk, or where the law requires it. Unless it is urgent, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you deal with us as a consumer, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 are unaffected by anything here.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent Indian law allows:
- The service is provided as it is. We do not give implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of contract, loss of goodwill, or the cost of redoing work.
- We are not liable for the accuracy of extracted equipment data, or for any document you generate, approve and send to a third party.
- Our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in that period, or ₹10,000.
You will cover us for claims brought by others that arise from your content, from your use of the service in breach of these terms, or from a handover document you issued.
13. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of competent jurisdiction in India. Talk to us first at hello@hustleworld.app; most things are quicker to fix than to argue about.
If a clause here turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of the agreement still stands. If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will post the new version here and tell account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Baton after that date means you accept the change. If you do not, close your account and your files stay in your Drive.
This version is dated 18 September 2026. Questions about any of it: hello@hustleworld.app. Baton is run by one person in India, so that email reaches him directly.
